Important Safety information for using your fire pit surround: 

Make sure to line the interior of the surround with either a steel insert or fireproof cement. This will help protect the overall structure and prevent any potential damage from the heat generated by the fire. 

It is essential to maintain a safe distance between the fire and the stone. For this purpose, we advise placing a steel insert with a proper amount of air space between the edge of the steel and the stone. Alternatively, you can use fire bricks in the center to control the heat or line the surround with a fire retardant mortar for added protection. 

Consider adding a layer of sand and gravel at the bottom of the pit. This extra step will help promote proper drainage and further enhance safety.
